Australia Museum opened last week after being closed for 18 months for extensive renovations. Dunsteel Group were working with Kane Constructions Pty Ltd at the project on various structural steel elements, most notably the architectural main entrance stair case.
The feature staircase winds up 5 levels, acting as a main entrance stair for customers to the museum. The staircase had to be customised to suit the latent conditions, with all the challenges of a heritage building, including inconsistent floor heights and floor void openings.
